Origin Stories
The inaugural “Origin Stories” event held in Thailand in 2024 and was a huge hit, and will be back for a second go-around at the 44th ISTS Symposium. The Origin Stories session brings together some of the most respected voices in the field to share the personal and professional journeys that shaped their research careers. Through engaging storytelling, these distinguished researchers and conservationists will reflect on the pivotal moments, challenges, and inspirations that led them to where they are today. Attendees will gain insight into the diverse pathways into research, the role of mentorship, and the perseverance required to make impactful contributions to their field. There will be plenty of laughs, and maybe even some tears!
Speed Chatting with Experts
This dynamic event is designed to provide students, young researchers, and curious participants with an opportunity to engage in short, focused discussions with established experts in their fields. Modeled after the concept of speed-dating, participants will rotate through a series of one-on-one conversations, allowing them to gain insights, seek mentorship, and expand their professional network.
